Danica Patrick Going To NASCAR, Will Lead The Sprint Events In 2012

The worst kept secret in racing is not a secret anymore. Danica Patrick, possibly most famous runner in the country will move from IndyCar to NASCAR full time after the 2012 season.

Dressed in suits and leather pants and high heels even advertising, Patrick, along GoDaddy.com CEO Bob Parsons, Phoenix noticed a flash and dazzling event, which was more than the press conference GoDaddy rally.

"For the latest news that will shock the world, we are thrilled to finally announce that GoDaddy will take me full time in NASCAR next year," said Patrick. "Very exciting. I'm just glad to finally say it."

Patrick has some support weight in the world of NASCAR. His car is owned by Nationwide JR Motorsports Dale Earnhardt Jr., and his car in the Sprint Cup will be held by Tony Stewart, Stewart-Haas Racing. GoDaddy will be the sponsor for both series.

Patrick spent the 2010 and 2011 seasons back and forth between the IndyCar Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series, IndyCar racing full time as your schedule permits in NASCAR.

It will launch an eight to ten events scheduled in the Sprint Cup in 2012, probably larger, as the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400, with an eye toward moving to full time in the Sprint Cup in 2013.

Interestingly, Patrick did not confirm earlier reports that she would run the Daytona 500 and moves to the Sprint Cup level full-time, although it seems to Daytona would be the most logical place to begin his career Cup Sprint.

Daytona would be the perfect entry for the Sprint Cup series, it is in the tent sporting event, and it is not inconceivable that it could get a standout debut there. The current form of racing in Daytona allows drivers to partners for more speed, and if Patrick was aligned with the new team owner Tony Stewart, it would be in great shape for a solid finish.

There is precedent, after all. When is the last time for the first time that a driver has won the Daytona? Oh, only about seven months ago when Trevor Bayne came out of nowhere to win.

Also in the air? The Indianapolis 500 in 2012 and move forward. Patrick had high praise for the race, but not commit to the run. In theory, she could run for Charlotte Nationwide night before Indy, but probably could not run both logistically and Indy Sprint Cup Coca-Cola 600 that evening.

With 20 races in the Nationwide Series, Patrick has built a top-five and three top-10 with all who come in seven races this year.

There are many details remain, such as real races, it will run, but for now, the biggest news there. Danica Patrick has come to NASCAR, and somehow, the sport will never be the same.
