Sometimes stories of celebrities seem so unlikely that you feel as if they were created by a reporter from People Magazine bored with Mad Libs (the "January Jones called Bobby Flay, after a car accident" story comes to mind ...).
Such was the case yesterday, reports that Kate Winslet, Richard Branson's mother saved from the fire that destroyed the house of the Virgin Group Managing Director of the Caribbean.
Winslet was on vacation in Branson $ 70 million private island home to the British Virgin Islands with her boyfriend (Louis Dowler model), and two children (and former, Sam Mendes), a fire - caused by tropical storm Irene lightning - destroyed the entire house.
Winslet and about 20 others were able to evacuate in time and was not injured. Branson has lived in the house next door.
"A big thank you to Kate Winslet to help with my 90 year old mother of the main house for security," Branson wrote in his blog on Monday. "About 20 people were in the house and all got out and are very good."
"We will rebuild the house as soon as we can," he said. "We have a wonderful staff here and we want them to stay in work ... There are a lot of damage, but we will create something even more special on the ruins. "
