SANTA ANA, California (AP) - A player who recently appeared in the first "Austin Powers" movie was sentenced Friday to life without parole in the violent 1990 rape of a woman in Southern California.
The son of Joseph, 40, was convicted of a felony charge of torture, on 25 August after being linked to the crime through DNA evidence, said Farrah Emami, spokeswoman for the county district attorney Orange.
In 1997, the "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery," son wore a bowler hat and played one of the minions of Dr. Evil, named task random.
Sun and co-defendant Santiago Lopez Gaitan, 40, kidnapped the victim, then-19-year-old as she walked her dog in her apartment on Christmas Eve.
Son of Gaitán and pushed the woman in Huntington Beach and repeatedly raped and sodomized him back to his car at gunpoint. They also have the gun-mounted and repeatedly threatened to kill him, counting the bullets, and tell him that he would die.
Prosecutors say the woman identified court documents as Jane Doe, he prayed for his life before the Son of Gaitán and released her, naked, blindfolded, and was severely wounded by his own pants. He went to a local house, where police were called.
Evidence was collected by the woman on Christmas Eve, but the case eventually went cold.
It was not until the Son pleaded guilty to vandalism and crime in 2008 violated the probation he was required to provide a DNA sample. This sample binds to DNA collected from Doe in 1990.
In the "impact statement", the Court said the woman, dealing with post-traumatic stress on a daily basis, and it has become difficult to celebrate Christmas every year.
"My emotional scars are intense," he told the court. "My twenty years have been robbed of my life I learned to walk, see, hear and deal with the outside world again."
Gaitán in January pleaded guilty to five offenses, including kidnapping and sodomy by force to the concert. It 'was sentenced to 17 years and four months in state prison.
